There is no god but Allah
La ilaha illa Allah · «There is no deity but God»
Meaning
What does La ilaha illa Allah mean?
The calligraphy reproduces «La ilaha illa Allah», «There is no deity except Allah», the first part of the shahada, the testimony of faith. It is inscribed in the shape of the mihrab: the niche carved into the wall of a mosque, which indicates the qibla, the direction of Mecca towards which Muslims turn to pray.
What it brings to your home
The mihrab brings the elegance of mosque architecture to the wall, and the shahada makes it a room full of meaning. It structures a wall, creates a focal point, and can also mark a prayer area. In beige, brown, or black.
